About Us
Who We Are
We are military veterans, men and women, from every branch of service of the United States since World War II. Many of us were wounded in combat, many of us were injured during training, but we all were hurt while serving our country. You may not see all of our injuries because some of them, like PTSD and MST, are invisible. But to the veterans who have them, they are a constant reminder of something that would not have happened had they not been in the service.
We are in that small group of Americans, less than 1% of the population of the United States, who have served as a member of the Armed Forces. We are that smaller group within that 1% who continue to pay the price for our service and will do so until we die. Yet, at the same time, most of us would serve again if needed.

Members of Chapter 12 Black Mountain work closely with the VAMC Las Vegas as volunteer drivers picking up veterans from all over Clark County to take them to their medical appointments at the various VA medical facilities. When the veterans are through with their appointments, the drivers take them home. Chapter 12 Meets with National and Local Civic Leaders
Members of Chapter 12 Black Mountain travel to Washington, D.C. each year to meet with members of Congress representing Clark County and Nevada's two Senators to urge their support of legislation aimed at helping veterans and their families. Chapter 12 Black Mountain members correspond with our members of Congress and Senators at least once a week asking for their support to create legislation favorable to veterans and their families.
